Combating Hate Speech in the Caucasus
Following an invitation made at UNESCO’s World Press Freedom events in Helsinki in May, the EJN’s Director of Communications and Campaigns gave a keynote address at a Council of Europe conference on hate speech bringing together journalists from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The presentation was well-received and the Council of Europe has now translated the EJN’s five-point test for hate speech into Albanian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Ukrainian.
Bosnian, Croatian and Montenegrin versions will soon be available.
