Elva Narcia is a media development specialist with professional work experience in Norway, Spain, UK, Mexico, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and South Sudan. Her recent work focused on women´s political rights. After over twenty years living and working overseas as a journalists, media trainer and media project manager, she returned to her country of origin, Mexico, and founded the first media for development social enterprise Glifos Comunicaciones A.C , and launched a women´s national network to promote and encourage female civic and political participation. She has wide experience working in cross-cultural environments, managing local and international staff, designing journalism training curricula, managing media projects, training and mentoring journalists in developing countries and in conflict and post-conflict zones. For 15 years previously was an award winner Senior Journalist with the BBC World Service. Fluent in English and Spanish.
