Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press Award 2018

The EJN’s President, Aidan White, was part of the jury of the 2018 Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press.

The award is one of the most prestigious journalism awards in the Middle East and North Africa and been granted every year (since 2006) by the European Union to the best opinion article, best investigative article, and best audiovisual news report.

The 7-member jury met on Wednesday, May 30 at 5:00 pm in Beirut to choose the winner in each category. The award ceremony took place also in Beirut on Thursday, May 31 at 6:00 pm.
