Ethical Journalism Network seeks trustees
August 27 2020 – The Ethical Journalism Network is seeking new trustees for its board. We are a small, UK-based international charity which supports journalists in the UK and around the world to uphold ethical standards, good governance, and develop editorial codes of conduct.
We work with news media in more than a dozen countries around the world, to build practical tools for journalists, where the freedom of the press is under attack, and where so too are many of our colleagues.
We help to promote accountability within and by the media and we develop specific practical tools for journalists reporting on sensitive issues, such as identifying and reporting hate speech, the international refugee crisis, and the ethical coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have a small professional leadership, and trustees are expected to make a strong contribution. We are looking for those with experience who support our aims and who can give a few hours a month. You would ideally be an experienced journalist, have a background in media development, and/or have skills in fundraising. We are also seeking a new treasurer from a financial background who is sympathetic to our aims. The position is unpaid. Full details on application.
