On June 6th 2016, The Ethical Journalism Network and the Norwegian Institute for Journalism hosted an event in Fredrikstad to bring together media professionals, academics and exiled media based in Norway to debate how media cover of migration and the ethics of using graphic and disturbing images.
Hate Speech in Digital and Social Media
The Jordan Media Institute in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of Journalism organised a Conference on Hate Speech in Digital and Social Media in Amman, Jordan from the 26-27 April 2016.
Self Regulation and Media Ethics in Tunisia
The Norwegian Institute of Journalism and Ethical Journalism Network (EJN) organised a seminar on journalism and ethics in Hammamet in Tunisia 21 – 23 November in collaboration with the local UNESCO office and others.
There were sessions about paid-for-journalism with contributions mainly from colleagues in Egypt. Tunisian colleagues introduced a discussion about regulation, included media self-regulation.
