IPI World Congress: Covering the refugee crisis in an ethical way

The conflict in Syria and other crises saw a refugee influx into Europe, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey in 2015 creating a humanitarian crisis. With the issue likely to also be one of the biggest stories of 2016, a panel at this year’s International Press Institute World Congress in Doha explored how international media are coping with covering the issue of migration and how it can be improved.

Our board member, Chris Elliott joined the panel to discuss the ethics of covering migration and the recommendations of the EJN’s Moving Stories report.
